Stories & Highlights

Pate’s Creek Excellence

We are thrilled to honor Ms. Achevia Coleman as our Teacher of the Year. Her passion for art and unwavering dedication transform students into confident, creative artists in a safe and valued space. Congratulations to our Media Center Paraprofessional, Ms. Audreeka Johnson, for being named Education Support Person of the Year! Her positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed make her a true encouragement to students, both in the media center and throughout the school.

(PBIS) is a framework that promotes positive behavior in schools. Our school uses the P.R.I.D.E. program (Prepared, Respectful, Integrity, Determined, Excellence) and tools like ClassDoJo to recognize and reward students who demonstrate positive behavior, fostering a supportive learning environment for all.

Accelerated Reader is a program that we use that offers personalized reading experiences, motivating students to read more and comprehend better. Teachers can use data-driven insights to support individual students and promote independent reading habits. Students are celebrated for reaching their reading goals.

Regular School Attendance is crucial for academic success as it allows students to keep up with lessons, participate in class activities, and build strong relationships with teachers and peers. Our staff encourages and rewards regular attendance and we have seen a 10% improvement in school attendance.

At PCE, we offer a variety of after-school clubs to engage and inspire students, including cheer, dance, BETA, and writing clubs. Our Girls of Distinction Club was recognized for their donation to Hurricane Helene victims, while our Robotics Team received a $1,700 grant for materials. We’re also excited for our Reading Bowl competition in January. Our clubs allow students to pursue their interests and give back to the community.

The team at PCE is dedicated to making reading enjoyable for both students and teachers. To encourage more reading, we introduced the Book Buddies program, where homeroom classes are paired to read together at least once a month. Younger students read to older students, and vice versa, with the goal of showing that reading can be fun for everyone.
